Frank "Poppie" William Ruth

Ridge - Frank "Poppie" William Ruth, age 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025 at his home in Ridge, Louisiana. Frank was born on February 8, 1954 in Monroe, Louisiana and he was a longtime resident of Ridge. He was a loving, caring, devoted husband to his loving wife Elzina Ann Vollmer Ruth for 47 years. He was the true definition of a provider for his family. To know him was to love him. He had such a great sense of humor that he will forever be remembered for. He would help each and everyone that he could. He was very successful and respected with his career in communications. He absolutely loved the beach, Pensacola Beach, Florida to be exact!!! Even though he is no longer with us he will forever live in our hearts. Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Elzina Ann Vollmer Ruth; his daughter, Tiffany Ruth; his stepson, Michael Boudoin; his grandchildren, Mason Lucas Broussard of Ridge, Louisiana; Michael and wife Joy Boudoin of Monroe, Louisiana; Courtney Lynn (Boudoin) Belaire of Lafayette, Louisiana; Casee Elizabeth (Boudoin) Belaire of St Martinville, Louisiana; and Christy Cormier of Monroe, Louisiana; his great-grandchildren, Colton Boudoin and Ashton, Braylon Davis, and Brennan Murphy; his siblings, Frances Franssen of Lafayette, Louisiana; Kathryn Estry of Fort Worth, Texas; and Ronald Ron Ruth and wife Sherrille Ruth of Magnolia, Texas; as well as his brother-in-law, Percy Vollmer and wife Patricia Vollmer of Abbeville, Louisiana; his nephew, Martin Franssen and sons Devlin and Lachlan of Lafayette, Louisiana; his niece, Jennifer Franssen of California; Tommy and wife Audra Mhire and Jack (16) & Olivia (13); Brandi and Ryan McCarthy Lincoln (16) and Charlie (12), Lucy (11); his nieces and nephews, Tony, Codi, Emalee, and Bobby Ruth; his nephew, Nicholas and fiance Tayesha Broussard and son AJ of Abbeville, Louisiana; as he called her, his adopted daughter, Jennifer Lynn Poor of Lafayette, Louisiana; and his nephew Byron Vollmer and fiance Valerie Barnes and son Jackson and daughter Elha of Abbeville, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Margaret Ruth of Lafayette, Louisiana; his in-laws, Percy Sr. and Cecile Vollmer of Abbeville, Louisiana; his brother-in-law, Robert Estry of Fort Worth, Texas; his stepdaughter, Phyllis Boudoin of Lafayette, Louisiana; and his sister-in-law, Marlene Vollmer of Abbeville, Louisiana. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his whole medical team and Hospice of Acadiana for the care and compassion they offered to Frank in his time of need.
