Evan Wayne Niette

Maurice - A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for Evan Wayne Niette, age 44, who passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana. Pastor Johann Sathre of Our Savior's Church will officiate the service. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM in the Cypress Funeral Home Chapel. Evan Wayne Niette was born on November 29, 1976 in Leesville and he was a resident of Maurice. He was graduate Leesville High School and he worked in the Oilfield on Inland Barge Rigs. He was employed as a driller by Parker Drilling and Baywater Drilling. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved traveling with his wife, often times taking spur of the moment weekend trips. Evan was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching the Saints and LSU football with his son Dexter. On his days off you could often find him cutting grass on his "Zero Turn". He loved cutting grass so much that he would cut his yard and then some of his neighbors yards as well. Evan will be remembered as a kind, generous and loving man. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him. Evan is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Michelle Broussard Niette of Maurice; his children, Dexter Comeaux (Jessica), Kirstin Hebert (Blaine), and Connor Comeaux (Chyann); his grandchildren, Savannah, Gracie, Cooper, Corrie, Caden, and Carson; his parents, Terry Niette and Denise Warren Niette; his In-laws, Rodney and Geraldine Broussard; his uncle, Glynn Niette; his cousin, Melissa Niette Havard; and his two special cats, Douglas and Daisy. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his uncle "Jay"; and his best friend and cherished 14 year old pit bull affectionately known as "Spud". The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to the Nurses, Doctors and Staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital - ICU for the care and compassion they provided Evan during his deepest time of need.
