Edna Blanche Cole Charpentier

Abbeville - A memorial service will be held on July 11, 2026 at 2 pm at the Abbeville United Methodist Church in Abbeville, LA for Edna Blanche Cole Charpentier, age 90, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026 in Jeanerette. Edna was born in New Bern, N.C. She spent much of her early life there till meeting the love of her life, George Charpentier and there they began their family. Her early years of motherhood were spent in Houma. After a few years, they made the decision to move to Abbeville, a community she proudly called home for more than 60 years. Edna was a homemaker, who loved collecting recipes, cookbooks, and trying new foods. It brought her joy to prepare meals for family and friends. You could always find her watching the Food Network, Lifetime movies, or one of her many favorite soap operas. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and couponing. Together, her and George loved taking trips to nearby casinos. She also dedicated majority of her time to becoming a leading Avon Rep for over 30 years. These simple pleasures brought her many happy memories. If you knew Edna, you knew she loved to talk. She never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel like an old friend. Whether she was sharing stories, offering a listening ear, or simply enjoying a visit, if she had the time, she'd keep the conversation going as long as you'd let her. She is survived by her son, Gary Charpentier. Her sister, Helen Parker. Her three grandchildren, Lyndsae' and wife Chantelle Derouen. Aubrey and wife Kristen Charpentier. Megan Charpentier. Son in law Calvin Weekly. Five great-grandchildren, Carter and Cevannah-Cay Derouen, Emily, Luke and Wes Charpentier, Many cherished friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, George Charpentier; her daughter, Kim Weekly; her daughter-in-law, Ruth Charpentier, her grandson, Joshua Weekly; her brother, Johnny; and her sisters, Dora, Ruby and Nellie. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate sitters who cared for Edna with such kindness and companionship, to the dedicated staff at Maison Teche and Foundations Hospice for the exceptional care they provided along with their comfort and support. And lastly to everyone who kept her in their thoughts and prayers no matter the distance. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cypress Funeral Home & Crematory, 206 W.
