Earline Touchet Broussard

Maurice - A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, at 1:00 pm at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice, Louisiana for Earline Touchet Broussard, age 88, who passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, in Maurice, Louisiana. Deacon Keith Duhon will officiate the service. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church; with a Rosary at 11:30. Interment will take place in the Seveigner Broussard Family Cemetery in Maurice, Louisiana. Earline Touchet Broussard was born on February 26,1936, in Abbeville, Louisiana and she was a lifetime resident of South Louisiana. In her early years Earline worked as Hair Dresser from her home, and she later went on to work as a school bus driver for Lafayette Parish School System. She loved being in her kitchen, cooking Cajun food and homemade bread for her family and friends. She was also a talented seamstress, over the years she made many beautiful curtains, and did amazing upholstery work. In her retirement years she was able to travel with her husband Maurice in their RV, they loved go camping together. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the women’s auxiliary for the Mason’s. More than anything Earline was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and cherished grandmother to her many grandchildren and great children. She will be deeply missed by her family. Earline is survived by her two children, Rickey Broussard, Sr. (Kathleen) of Youngsville, Louisiana and Diana Broussard Stimpson (Douglas) of Conroe, Texas; her seven grandchildren, Rickey Broussard, Jr. (Jamie), Danielle Broussard Erbe (Andrew), Tiffany Broussard Boudreaux, Chad Stelly (Melissa), Brad Stelly (Raven), Seth Broussard (Christine), and Caleb Broussard (Courtney); her 16 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Blade, Jessie, Haden, Emma, Ian, Ella, Avery, Jaxon, Connor, Bennett, Josie, Rowan, Dax, Colton, and Weston; her two great-great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Nova; her sister, Marjorie Frederick of Avery Island; her sister in laws, Enith Roy of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Anna Mae Lanier of New Orleans, Louisiana; her brother in law, Lester “Bobby” Broussard of Lafayette, Louisiana; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Maurice "Shamee" Broussard; her son, Calvin Broussard; her parents, Gladu Touchet and Enith Guidry Touchet; as well as her brothers, Earl Touchet and Whitney Touchet. Pallbearers will be Rickey Broussard, Jr., Connor Stelly, Chad Stelly, Brad Stelly, Bennett Stelly, and Caleb Broussard. Honorary pallbearer will be Jaxon Boudreaux,Tyler Broussard, Seth Broussard, and Ian Erbe. The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to Earline's caregivers, Melinda Weaver and Ashley Hebert for the loving care and compassion they offered Earline and her family during her time of need. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Earline Touchet Broussard to Seveigner Broussard Family Cemetery, 1504 Young Street, Broussard, LA 70518.
