Lafayette - Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 11:00 am in Our Saviors Church in Lafayette for Devin Devon McZeal, age 20, who passed away in Lafayette on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Pastor Jacob Aranza will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 9:00 am until service time in Our Saviors Church in Lafayette. Devin Devon McZeal was born on February 26, 2003, in Lafayette where he remained a lifelong resident. From the moment he was born he brought happiness and love to everyone he encountered. Devin loved playing basketball and hanging out with his loved ones. He was loving, kind, determined and unselfish with everything he did. Devin’s goofy personality brought happiness and comfort to others. His laugh was unmatched to anyone else’s, it was unique and contagious. Devin could make a whole room erupt in laughter with the jokes and comments he made. But not everyone was allowed to access to this side of him, only those that he loved dearly. Devin was such a gentle soul and possessed a big heart, he never forgot about those around him. He was such a positive person and always told others to keep their head up. Devin was the most loyal person you could ever meet. He lived by the codes honor and loyalty. Although he was goofy, he was not soft, he gave you the truth even if it hurt a little but he knew it that’s what you needed. Devin was overprotective about the ones he loved, you couldn’t tell him anything whenever you were in trouble or he sensed you were in trouble he was there. He was always there when you needed him and so compassionate for others. Devin was an amazing person, brother, son, nephew, grandson, and friend. You were blessed to be in his orbit if you were. Devin is survived by his parents, Kimberly McZeal and Brandon Guillory; his siblings, Amber McZeal, Christopher “Chris” Thomas, Christian Thomas, and Jaylin Thomas; as well as his cousins, grandmother, grandfather, aunts, uncles and a host of friends who love and adore him.
