Darrell Paul Broussard

Youngsville - Darrell Paul Broussard, Sr., age 64, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, January 12, 2023, in Youngsville surrounded by his family. Darrell was born on April 28, 1958, in Abbeville and was a longtime resident of Acadiana. He was an amazing father and grandfather. Darrell was always there to help those in need and never turned his back on anyone. He made friends everywhere he went. Darrell will be missed by all those that were blessed enough to have him in their lives. Darrell leaves behind to mourn and to cherish his fond memories, his daughter, Maili Stevenson (Hunter) of Youngsville; his wife, Janice Broussard of Lafayette; his step-daughters, Azia Adams of Lafayette, Vanessa Barquet of Houma, and Virginia Campbell of Lafayette; his step-sons, Chuck Trotter of Lafayette and Emmanuel Campbell of Abbeville; his brothers, Kevin Broussard of Kaplan, Clifton Broussard, Jr. (Marilyn) of Kinston, North Carolina, Dexter Broussard of Lafayette, and Marcus Broussard of Dallas, Texas; his sisters, Tonia Frances (John) of Lafayette, Pamela Derouen (Nathan) of Delcambre, Phyllis Vallian (Gil) of New Iberia, Anita Broussard Levy of Abbeville, and Erica James of New Orleans; his grandchildren, Cora Joanis (Kyle Faul) of Lafayette, Ashton Meade (Alexis Deese) of Lafayette, and Jhenneil Broussard of Roanoke, Virginia; a special friend, Louise Briggs of Abbeville; five aunts and six uncles, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Carrol Ann O’Brien; and his son, Darrell Broussard, Jr. “Pee-Wee”; his paternal grandparents, Charlie and Anna Joseph Broussard; his maternal grandparents, Rayward and Berneda Hardy O’Brien; his uncles, Clopha Broussard, Sidney Broussard, Neil O’Brien, and Danny O’Brien; his aunts, Nettie B. Ozone, Mary Louise Stevens, Brenda O. Shelvin, and Lydia Bernard; his brother-in-law, Donald Ray Levy, Sr.; his sister-in-law, Juanita Broussard; as well as his cousins, Kimberly O’Brien, Barbara Ozone, Patrick Sinegal and Johnny Sinegal.
