Clyde Joseph Collins Sr.

Church Point - Clyde Joseph Collins, Sr., age 65, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, in Eunice, Louisiana. Clyde Joseph Collins, Sr. was born on November 24, 1957, in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was one of eight children born from the union of Oraline Papilion of Pitreville, Louisiana and Lumas Collins of Eunice, Louisiana. Clyde was a faithful, considerate, and simple man of God. He loved the Lord and would often speak of God’s plan for his life by saying, “If the Lord says so.” Clyde knew that God had a plan for his life and he was faithful in knowing that his help and his strength comes from the Lord. He had a spirit of God; so kind and so peaceful was his demeanor. Clyde was a man who would give the shirt off of his back. He was sure to make everyone’s day with his distinct laugh and chuckle. Clyde struggled with his health for many years, but trusted in the Lord to provide him with strength and courage until the end. On April 19, 2023, at 4:20 p.m., God decided that it was time for Clyde to rest in his eternal home. The Angel of Eternal Life visited Clyde at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice, Louisiana and guided him home to his eternal rest. Clyde is survived by his son, Cody Joshua Collins; his granddaughter, Malani Collins; his two grandsons, Clydall and Decoryon Collins; his four sisters, Kathy Alison, Sharon Collins, Shirley Collins, and Dorothy Lamothe; his two brothers, Dave Collins and Darryl Collins (Pamela). He was preceded in death by his parents, Oraline Papilion Collins and Lumas Collins; his son, Clyde Collins, Jr.; his sister, LouAnna as well as her husband, Willie Semien; as well as his two brothers-in-law, Gary Alison and Hermin Lamothe. God continued to reveal his unconditional love to Clyde until the end of his days. May he rest in God’s mighty arms of peace. The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to Kimberly Walker for going above and beyond as well as his very special nephew that he took in like a son, Keith Semien for the care and compassion they offered Clyde and his family during his time of need.
