Bonnie Blue Maillet

Broussard - A liturgy of the word will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Cypress Funeral Home for Bonnie Blue Maillet, age 81, who passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 15, 2026 surrounded by members her loving family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 10:00 AM until service time at Cypress Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 12:00 Noon. Bonnie Blue was born on May 14, 1944, in Atlanta, Texas, and was named after her mother, Leslie Faye Blue. Bonnie spent much of her childhood in east Texas before moving to Marksville, Louisiana, to be with her mother and new stepfather. There, as a young teenager, she met the love of her life, Keith Maillet. Bonnie loved to tell the story of how they met. They were introduced at a Parish fair by Keith’s cousin, and when Keith asked if she wanted to “walk around”, she said she did and they’ve been walking around ever since. Bonnie Blue was a force of nature. Whether working during early adulthood in the athletic department at the University of Louisiana (then USL) or later as an international trailblazer in the oil industry, Bonnie got the job done successfully. Her career in the oil field extended from the 1980s into the early 2000s. Bonnie started out working for several oil service companies in the Lafayette area before establishing her own business, Boysenblue/Celtec International, Inc., which made and distributed drilling additives. Boysenblue was a successful enterprise both on the domestic front and internationally. While at the helm, Bonnie and Boysenblue received numerous awards and accolades for dedicated service and contributions to the community. Bonnie Blue is preceded in death by her brother, Ken Michael Daniel. She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Keith Maillet; her sister, Terry Moreau of Houston, Texas; her two sons, Gordon Maillet and Barry Maillet of Lafayette; her four grandchildren, Simone, Collin, Zachary, and Paige; and her four great-grandsons, Mark, Luke, Beau, and Cade. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cypress Funeral Home & Crematory, 206 W. Lafayette St., Maurice, LA 70555.
