Beryl Ann Richard

Church Point - Beryl Ann Barousse Richard, age 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Maison Du Monde Living Center in Abbeville, LA. Beryl was born February 27, 1947, in Church Point, LA and resided there for 50 years before moving to Saint Martinville, LA to be closer to her daughter. She enjoyed spending time with her family and having coffee with old friends to catch up on life. Beryl had the opportunity to work many jobs through the course of her life, admittedly her favorite was working as a CNA. She thoroughly enjoyed helping the residents and being able to help them in their time of need. Beryl also enjoyed working as a hot shot driver, being able to travel and sightsee many different places brought great excitement to her. After her retirement, she went to live at Maison Du Monde Living Center where she met many new friends. Beryl enjoyed playing bingo, doing crafts and dancing with them. She loved everyone there and they equally loved her and her positive outlook on life as she was great at making others laugh with her clever jokes. Beryl was so popular she was even named Mardi Gras Queen during her time at Maison Du Monde. The highlight of her time spent in the living center was when her son, Michael came to live with her. They were able to live together for a year and a half which she enjoyed thoroughly because felt safe and at home having him there. Beryl is survived by her children, Lisa Albert (Errol) and Michael Landry; her grandchildren, Derek Albert (Halie), Joshua Albert (Morgan), Monique Albert (Kyle), Michael Landry Jr. (Kimberly), and Michaela Landry; her nine beloved great grandchildren; her siblings, Marlene Dunbar (Donny) and Ricky Barousse (Melva); along with her cherished nephew and three nieces. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Joseph M. Barousse and LucRita Comeaux; as well as her brother, Kevin Anthony Barousse. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Maison Du Monde, Heart of Hospice, and Nurse Stephanie for their loving and compassionate care of Beryl during her time of need.
