Anthony "Tony" Daly

Lafayette- Anthony “Tony” Daly, passed away at the age of 50 on July 30, 2024, in Duson, Louisiana. Tony was born on December 29, 1973, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Tony was a beloved family member, community figure, caregiver, and father. Visitation will occur on Friday August 9, 2024 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Cypress Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at 11:30 AM, led by Pastor Marty Deroussel, followed by a Rosary recited by Deacon William “Billy” Vincent at 12:00 PM. Funeral services will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 9, 2024, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Abbeville, Louisiana, with Father Nicholas G. DuPré officiating the service. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville. Tony attended Saint Genevieve Catholic School and graduated from Teurlings Catholic High School. Tony went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McNeese State University. He also earned a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on Healthcare Administration from the University of Louisiana in 2021. His career is marked by his dedication to compassionate healthcare, serving in the emergency department for over twenty-five years. His leadership and team spirit garnered numerous accolades, including the 25 Acadiana Nurses Award, the Franciscan Service Award, and multiple nominations for the Daisy Award. Tony’s career was more than a job; it was a calling, and he lived it with grace and dedication, leaving a permanent mark on the hearts of all his patients and those who had the privilege of working with him. Tony’s service extended beyond his professional life. He volunteered as a Meals on Wheels driver, participated in the Lafayette Walk to Defeat ALS, served on the Advisory Council at St. Genevieve School, coached youth sports, and as a youth was an altar boy at St. Genevieve Catholic Church. He leaves behind his cherished children, Bailey Daly Primeaux (Tinky) and her husband, Collin James Primeaux; Riley Kae Daly (Beans); Max Anthony Daly (Bob); Myles Anthony Daly (Noodle); and step-daughter Alanie Sayer Cloteaux (Patsy). He is also survived by his mother, Freida Michele Ancona; his father, Michael J. Daly Sr.; his brother, Michael J. Daly Jr.; Aunt Leona Ancona Martin; two uncles, Patrick “Pat” Daly and David Daly Sr.; and cousins, Christopher Paul Gautreaux, Nicholas Todd Gautreaux, Carlos Jude Gautreaux, Roman Joseph Gautreaux, Francis “Butch” Bickford, and Michael Bickford. Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Antoinette Rose Nassar, Vincent Ancona, Bernice Daly, and Albert Daly; his brother Kyle Martie Daly; his Aunt Rosalie Ancona Gautreaux; Uncles Jeffery “Jeff” Daly and Robert “Bob” Martin; Godfather and Uncle Paul Allen Gautreaux; and Godmother Natalie Antoinette (Gautreaux) Hebert. Pallbearers will include Michael James Daly Jr., Collin James Primeaux, Joshua Neil Thibodeaux, Douglas Kyle Clement, M.D., Nicholas Todd Gautreaux, Dominic Paul Gautreaux, and Nicholas Todd Gautreaux, II. Honorary pallbearers will include Christopher Paul Gautreaux, Carlos Jude Gautreaux, Roman Joseph Gautreaux, Max Anthony Daly, Myles Anthony Daly, G.S.
