Ann Y. O'Bryan

Abbeville - A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at Cypress Funeral Home for Ann Y. O’Bryan, age 75, who passed away peacefully at the Calcutta House at Hospice of Acadiana on Monday, June 19, 2023, in Lafayette. Ann Y. O’Bryan was born on June 4, 1948, in Honolulu, Hawaii and she was a longtime resident of Abbeville. She was a gardener, swimmer, water-aerobics instructor, and animal lover. Ann lived a full life, surrounding herself with love and positivity. You could find her tending to her gardens and yard, which brought her much joy. Ann always had a good book recommendation or gardening tip to share with anyone who asked. Her specialty was her ability to convince her husband, John, to take in one more stray animal that showed up at their door. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Ann regularly described her as “the sweetest person” and her family whole-heartedly agrees. Ann’s presence, love, and generosity will be missed by her family and friends. A hui hou, Ann, until we meet again. Ann Y. O’Bryan is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, John W. O’Bryan, III; her children, B.J. Songné, Michelle Songné Villa, Megan O’Bryan, and Angie O’Bryan Wallace; her daughter-in-law, Brandy Songné; her son-in-law, Omar Villa; as well her grandchildren, Talon Villa, Hannah Wallace, Allie Wallace, and Sidney Wallace. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Kruger, III and Civerina Mossman. The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Hospice of Acadiana; all of the friends and family that enriched her life; as well as, Donna Broussard, Stoney Richard, Vince Racca, and the lovely ladies and gentleman at Healthworks for the care and compassion they offered Ann Y.
