Albert "A.C." Charles Vincent

Milton - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 2:30 PM at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville for Albert “A.C.” Charles Vincent, age 87, who passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 in Lafayette. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the chapel of Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice. A rosary will be prayed at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery. Albert “A.C.” Charles Vincent was born on January 30, 1938 in Youngsville and he was a longtime resident of Milton. A.C. was a true Cajun through and through: he was tough on the outside but was a soft-hearted man whose presence could light up any room with laughter or song. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy and even had the opportunity to be on the world’s first guided missile destroyer, the US GYATT. A.C. also worked for Louisiana DOTD for many years before retiring from there. A.C. was known as Papa. He was always working to provide for his family. He enjoyed fishing, farming, gardening, roosters, and even racehorses. He found joy in the simple things: singing old songs, drinking a cold beer, and throwing out one of his many sayings, like answering with “Is the Pope Catholic?” instead of saying “Yes.” A.C. was strong-willed character; a man who made his mark with his humor, dedication, and the unmistakable warmth beneath his tough exterior. He loved going to church, loved his people deeply, and left behind stories and smiles that will be remembered and cherished for generations to come. A.C. was survived by his daughter, Rosamae Labauve (Walter); the mother of his child, Fran Vincent; his step-daughter, Famee Jeansonne; his grandchildren, Amanda Barton, Abby Vincent, Taylor Lambert, Lauren Lambert, Peyton Lambert, Cyrus Vincent, Jean Vincent, David Labauve, and Marcus Hebert; his great-grandchildren, Ellie, Zayne, Jocelyn, Bryce, Elyse, Maljah, Jada, Stacia, Charnice, and Shamar; his siblings, Joan Hebert, Ramona Romero, Rose Duhon, Lee Lee Romero, Garnet Acosta, Joey Vincent, Liz Vincent, Mary Vincent, Cindy Stelly, Kerry Vincent, and Gary Vincent; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose Amie Vincent and Cyrus Vincent; his step-mother, Ethelie Broussard Vincent; his grand daughter Ashley Vincent ; his son, Amiel Vincent; as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents. The family would like to extend a special thank you to A.C.’s good friend and caregiver, Tammy, for all of the care and compassion she offered him in his time of need, as well as the staff at Our Lady of Lourdes for the care they provided. Pallbearers will be Peyton Lambert, Joey Vincent, Gary Vincent, Kerry Vincent, Josh Trahan, and Jason Lambert. Honorary Pallbearers are Cyrus Vincent and Jean Vincent . Arrangements have been entrusted to Cypress Funeral Home & Crematory, 206 W. Lafayette St., Maurice, LA 70555.
