Yvonne Marie Primeaux

Maurice- Funeral Services will be held at a later date for Yvonne Marie Primeaux, age 67, who passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 at Courtyard Manor Assisted Living in Lafayette, Louisiana. Yvonne was born on February 26, 1953 in Lafayette, Louisiana to the late Isaac Primeaux and Jeanne Picard Primeaux. She is a lifelong resident of South Louisiana and a graduate of Cathedral Carmel in Lafayette. She attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana “USL” earning a bachelor’s degree in “Health and Physical Education”. She worked as a “PE” teacher for over 30 years at schools in New Orleans, Lafayette and Vermilion Parish. In her day to day life Yvonne loved spending time in her yard being near her pond and enjoying her plants. She also enjoyed hanging out at festivals and local events here in Acadiana. Yvonne will be remembered as a kind, loving and caring person who would have done anything for anyone. Her “girls” as she lovingly called them (Kamdyn, Masyn, Piper and Lilly) were her pride and joy. She will be missed by many. She is survived by her siblings, Yvette Lantier and her husband Mike of Scott, La., Virginia Suire and her husband Tom of Spring, Texas and Eric Primeaux and his wife Diane of Baton Rouge, La.; her nieces and nephews, Kerry Montz and her husband Luke, Kelly Casile and her husband Myke, Lynn Primeaux, Brian Primeaux and Justin Primeaux; her great nieces, Piper Casile, Lillian Casile, Kamdyn Montz and Masyn Montz; and her very dear and special friends, Josie and Larry Geer of Marrero, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Primeaux and Jeanne Picard Primeaux; and her brother Patrick Primeaux. The family would like to express a special thank you to the caring and compassionate staffs of Magnolia Rehab Home, Courtyard Manor Assisted Living and Bridgeway Hospice of Lafayette. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Yvonne Primeaux Memorial Fund. These donations will be used for Yvonne’s Headstone, where she will be laid to rest in St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery in Maurice.
