Rouley Paul Lasseigne Sr.

Arnaudville - A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 3:30, at New Beginning Fellowship Church in Breaux Bridge for Rouley Paul Lasseigne, Sr, age 79, who passed away peacefully after a battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at the Carpenter House on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, in Lafayette. Pastor Daniel Pina of New Beginning Fellowship Church in Breaux Bridge, will officiate the service. Rouley was born on November 2, 1943 in St. Martinville, LA. He was a life long resident of Arnaudville, LA. and will be dearly missed. Rouley married the love of his life on February 5, 1966. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Laura Richard Lasseigne; his children, Susan Hoffpauir (Gilbert), Daren Lasseigne, Clara Breaux (Ronnie), Kathy Burch (Ellis), Sheila Lasseigne (Troy), Rouley Lasseigne, Jr. (Geraldine), Sarah Lasseigne (Cody), and two bonus daughters, Charly Melancon and Sidney Melancon; 21 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Along with a host of nieces and nephews and dear friends. “We love you the most!” He was preceded in death by his parents, Clabert Lasseigne and Anastise Girouard Lasseigne as well as numerous siblings. At the time of his death, Rouley lived a quiet, peaceful life with the love of his life, Laura. He worked on offshore rigs, including Mallard Drilling and Frank’s Casing Crew for many years. He was also in the Army National Guard where he gladly served and protected his country to be a better place for his wife, children, and grandchildren. Rouley was a major fan of sitting in his rocker playing his harmonica and playing with his dogs Rocky and Coco. He loved to whistle a tune around the house, rock his grandchildren, and pull the youngin’s toes. He loved to cook for his offshore crew. What he loved most was his wife, Laura’s cooking and coming back for more. He loved watching old western movies and football. He loved using scraps of wood to make building blocks for his grandchildren. He also loved listening to Gospel music and Hank Williams was a favorite. There was no doubt that he was a God fearing, Christian man that enjoyed nurturing and praying over others and waking up to go to church on Sunday mornings and reading his Bible. He loved worship and dancing on the side of his church chair. Rouley was always of service, whether it was his neighbors, family, or church family. He served the residents of Breaux Bridge, as a member of New Beginning Fellowship Church Food Pantry for many years. He will also be dearly missed by his brothers and sisters in Christ. “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 Special thanks to the staff of The Carpenter House, a St. Joseph Hospice. Rouley went on to be with Jesus in comfort and peace surrounded by his family and those he loved the most. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.
