Lafayette - Paul Richard “Ricky” Ayers III It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Richard “Ricky” Ayers III on August 2, 2024. Born on August 12, 1990, in Lafayette and raised in New Iberia, LA, Ricky was a beacon of love, joy, and warmth to all who knew him. Ricky is preceded by his grandparents, Chuck and Debbie Ayers, and LJ and Linda Comeaux. He leaves behind his father, Paul Richard “Rick” Ayers II; his mother, Melanie Hulin; his brother, Chase Ayers; his sisters, Lori Boudreaux, Ireland Combs, and Gabrielle Doiron; his wife, Kayla Ayers; and his two beautiful children, Porter (4) and Sawyer (7 ½). Ricky was a devoted and loving father to his cherished children, Porter and Sawyer. Though he was taken from them too soon, he leaves a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, adventures, and deep, unconditional love. His bond with his children can never be broken. Ricky's heart was as big as his smile and his laugh. He had an incredible gift for making those around him feel special and loved. He graduated from New Iberia Senior High, where he made lasting friendships with so many. Ricky loved soccer and cherished his friends. His presence brought life, laughter, and happiness to those he loved. Ricky was also proud of his Irish heritage, which he celebrated. Ricky took pride in his work. He held key positions in the industrial equipment and energy services industry, including roles as General Manager and Operations Manager. His professional contributions left a lasting impact on every organization he worked with. He had a zest for life that was contagious, always ready to find joy in the simple things and share that joy with his family and friends. He was the life of the party, lighting up any room he entered. Ricky's kindness, goofiness, sense of humor, and unwavering love will forever be remembered and treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A celebration of Ricky's life will be held on his birthday, August 12, 2024, at Pelican’s on the Bayou in New Iberia from 2-4 pm. Friends and family are invited to come together and honor the incredible person Ricky was. Ricky's spirit will live on in the hearts of his children, Porter and Sawyer, his wife Kayla, his family, his friends, and all who loved him.
