Milton - Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Cypress Funeral Home in Maurice for Joseph Sellers Jr., 61, who passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 in Lafayette, surrounded by his family. Visitation will be observed at Cypress Funeral Home on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Deacon Cody Miller will officiate. Joseph Sellers, Jr. was born on November 11, 1959 in Lafayette, Louisiana and was a resident of Milton. He worked in the Oil and Gas industry throughout his life. In his spare time Joe loved to fish. While he was an avid outdoorsman and happy to chase any kind of fish, Sacalait were his absolute favorite. He also enjoyed frequent traveling to Albuquerque, New Mexico and St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, always with his wife Susan by his side. Around the house Joe loved to cook and be in the kitchen. He was a faithful fan of "General Hospital" and he watched it every day at 1 PM, and everyone in the family knew not to bother him when his "show" was on. More than anything Joe was a Loving husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family and the time he spent with them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Susan Cormier Sellers; his children, Erika Marie Sellers (Vernon) of Texas, and Joshua K. Sellers (Melisa) of Milton; his grandchildren, Andre Devon, Joshua Marcus, Destani Jade, Arriana Marie, Jhailin D’lani, and Jaxon Eli; his siblings, Oran Jude Sellers (Charleen) of Broussard, Wanda Jo Leblanc ( Kim) of Scott, Keith Steven Sellers of Lafayette, Anthony Sellers of Lafayette, Zelda Gautreaux of Lafayette, David Sellers (Tina) of Florida, Linda Tacorchick (Troy) of Rayne, and Paul Chester Sellers of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Willa Mae Sellers; his In-Laws, John and Shirley Cormier; and his nephew, Anthony Sellers Jr. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Nurses, Doctors and staff of Our Lady of Lourdes 3rd and 4th floors; as well as Chris Gaspard of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for always checking on Joseph and making sure he was ok; and also, to the Nurses and Staff of St. Josephs Carpenter House for all of the care and compassion they showed Joseph during his time of need.
