Gloria Suire Viator

Maurice - A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 3:00 pm in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Abbeville for Gloria Suire Viator, age 90, who passed away peacefully at Pelican Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation on Tuesday, February, 20, 2024, in Maurice. Jon Robertson will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 2:00 pm until the time of service in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Gloria Suire Viator was born on November 28, 1933, in Delcambre and she was a lifelong resident of Vermilion Parish. Gloria was a woman who was full of life and had a contagious laugh that always made you naturally join in. She was loving and kind. She was the beating heart of our family. She loved gardening and working in her flower bed, always putting fresh flowers in her house. She was also an excellent seamstress. Gloria loved to cook and entertain family and friends, surrounding the table with happiness and good times. Above all she loved teaching about her God, Jehovah. Her ministry was her life’s work. She will truly be missed. Gloria is survived by her three children, Paul Viator (Angela), Daughter Nancy Prejean (Elvin), and Judy Abshire; her nine grandchildren, Jason Viator, Amy Segura, Sara Dorsey, Becky Baker, Joseph Vincent, Amanda Fitch, Megan Abshire, Drake Abshire, and Jordan Stark; her nine great-grandchildren, London, Lillian, Sawyer, Jackson, McCoy, Pearl, Jeanne Marie, Audrey, and Grey; her five siblings, Lillian Fogleman, Mary Nell Meaux, Theresa Peltier, Annette Parsons, and Faye Trahan; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Suire and Paula Broussard Suire; her first husband and the father of her children, Lloyd J. Viator; her second husband, Jack Newkirk; her two sons, Mark Viator and John Viator; her siblings, John Paul Suire, Thelma Creasman, Eugene Suire, and Cecile Toups; her grandchild, Dawn Viator; as well as her great-granddaughter, Autumn Simon. The family wishes to offer a heartfelt thank you all of her sitters that took care of her at home, to the many nurses at Traditions Hospice, as well as all of those at Pelican Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation that showed and expressed their loving care for Gloria.
