Brian Paul Broussard

Abbeville - A celebration of life will be held at a later date for Brian Paul Broussard, age 60, of Abbeville, Louisiana who went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 7, 2024. Brian was born on January 2, 1964, to Eddie and Madeleine Broussard. He was born and raised in Abbeville, Louisiana, and graduated from Abbeville High School in 1982. After graduation, Brian attended Lafayette Regional Technical Institute, where he earned a certification in sheet metal mechanics. He was employed in and around Lafayette and Abbeville, devoting 32 years to PHI in Lafayette. Brian was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and he didn’t shy away from hard work. There wasn’t a task too big or small that he wouldn’t attempt to accomplish. He was a gun enthusiast and often shared his vast knowledge of guns, their history and mechanics, and enjoyed spending time at the gun range. He had a passion for military history and loved watching documentaries, movies and the history channel. He was able to give great detail about the make, model and size of military helicopters, weaponry, vehicles and so much more. Brian enjoyed the outdoors and always showed much pride and appreciation for freshly cut yards. He took great delight in homecooked Cajun cuisine and would often reminisce about delicious dishes cooked during his childhood. Above all, he loved spending time with family and friends and was affectionately known by many as “B”, “Papa B” or just “BP”. Brian will be dearly missed by his family and those who knew and loved him. Brian is survived by his wife, Kimberly Renee Broussard; his daughter Hannah Broussard Stanton and her husband Austin; his son Shaun Lancon and his wife Darcy and their daughter Caelin; his son Philip Lancon and his wife Mia and their children Elijah, Cyrus and Daisy; his father, Eddie John Broussard; his siblings, Jeanine Broussard Matte; Stephen Wayne Broussard and his wife Mitzi; and Michelle Broussard Hanes and her husband Steven. Brian is also survived by several other family members, nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Madeleine Pope Broussard; his maternal grandparents, Ernest Pope and Louise Duvaux Pope; and his paternal grandparents, Opta Broussard and Ida Duhon Broussard.
